Riverside’s Pro Se Services is holding their third annual holiday drive for children in emergency shelters.
Pro Se is collecting gifts for children who are staying in emergency shelters in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.
The children have a wish list of most-requested items, including gift cards, toys, dolls, clothes, outerwear, toiletries, video games, computers, iPods, personal CD players, and small luggage.
The goal is to provide gifts for more than 70 children, from infants to children who are 18 years old. Last year, the program provided gifts for more than 400 children.
Participants can drop off gifts at the following locations: Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road; Lyons Public Library, 4209 Joliet Ave.; or the Berwyn Public Library, 2701 S. Harlem Ave. through Dec. 20.
Cash donations are also accepted. Cash donations can be made in person at the drop-off locations, online at proseservices.org or by mail at Pro Se Services, P.O. Box 363, Riverside, IL 60546.
On Dec. 20, Pro Se and DCFS will host a holiday party for their children, where they will deliver the gifts.
On. Nov. 5, Pro Se will be holding an informational meeting from 5-7 p.m. at the Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road, Riverside, about their Alms Deeds and Youth Enrichment Services programs.
