Lions Club, ACS teaming up to prevent skin cancer

The Riverside Township Lions Clubs has partnered with the American Cancer Society to provide residents with free skin cancer prevention screenings Aug. 5.
As part of National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, there will be a free presentation on skin cancer prevention and optional full-body screenings provided by dermatologists Dr. Sophia Welykyj and Dr. Rosemary Chen.
Screenings are available by appointment only and will be held after the presentation. To sign up for a screening, call Carmen Carrizales of the American Cancer Society at (708) 484-8542 before July 31.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 at the North Riverside Village Commons, 2401 S. Des Plaines Ave.
