In addition to new entertainment offerings, Bistro One West in St. Charles unveils a Monthly Dinner Club debuting in late October.
For each club event, Chef Doug D’Avico will create a menu crafted around a specific theme. Space is limited to the first 35 guests, who will be served a five-course meal. The first one begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, (not Oct. 29 as previously announced), and will feature a Halloween theme. The dinner costs $95, and includes tax and gratuity. Jazz Showcase Nights
The restaurant has officially made Thursdays “Jazz Showcase Nights” from 6 to 9 p.m. each week. Tonight, Oct. 13, the Tom Vaitsas Duo appears. Vaitsas is a noted pianist, and a member of The New Standard Quartet, where he plays keyboard and bass parts. He has performed with many of Chicago’s top musicians including Frank D’Rone, Bobbi Wilsyn, Duke Payne and Red Holt.
On Oct. 20, it will be the Nick Schneider Duo. The bass artist has performed with Randy Brecker, the Buddy Rich Big Band, Teddy Wilson and “The Tonight Show.” The Tom Fitzgerald Duo will round out the October Jazz Series, playing Oct. 27.
Classic Rock weekends
Classic rock bands take over from 7 to 10 p.m. every Saturday in October. Scrambled plays songs from the 1970s through 1990s Oct. 15, followed by Avalanche (featuring Dennis O’Brien and Charlie Prazma) Oct. 22 and 29.
The restaurant, which currently is booking holiday parties, is at 1 W. Illinois St. It is open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m. The dining room bar is open from 11 a.m. to close. The restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday.
