The Lombard Historical Society is holding a series of three “Summer Suppers” at the Sheldon Peck Homestead which focus on beef, chicken, and non-meat Dutch oven cooking recipes using natural ingredients.
The first in the series starts Thursday night from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sheldon Peck Homestead, 355 E. Parkside Ave., and features chicken. Participants will help prepare the meal, learn the proper methods of Dutch oven cooking, and enjoy eating a chicken entree, potato side dish, bread and dessert.
The cost is $15 per adult and $10 per child and covers supplies and ingredients.
