BENSENVILLE – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded a $65,250 grant to the Bensenville Fire Protection District No. 2 for operations and safety, according to a news release.

CICERO – A landlord and tenant dispute ended with the tenant setting fire to a pile of his clothes in his apartment at 5:30 a.m. June 4.

BROADVIEW – Four men have been charged for the 1999 murder of Darryl Green, a Broadview electronics store owner who was kidnapped, shot and left in an empty lot in Gary, Ind., officials said.

GLEN ELLYN – Glen Ellyn police charged four individuals in alcohol-related incidents between May 19 and 25, according to police reports.

RIVERSIDE – A Riverside gang member who was allegedly selling cannabis to juveniles was charged Friday after a three-month investigation.

BENSENVILLE – One person was charged with battery Friday after using pepper spray on five people outside a Bensenville nail salon, according to The Daily Herald.

Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested 18 alleged gang members and their associates during a three-day operation this week, the latest local effort in an ongoing national HSI initiative to target transnational gang members.

BROOKFIELD – A Brookfield resident riding a bicycle was hospitalized Tuesday after he collided with a car and cracked the windshield with his head, according to a report with the Brookfield Police Department.

CICERO – A 33-year-old Maywood man was struck and killed by a vehicle after he stumbled into traffic on Cicero Avenue June 5, police reported.

WEST CHICAGO – A West Chicago priest has been released on parole after serving about 80 percent of a four-year prison sentence for abusing a St. Charles boy, according to reports from the Associated Press.

WHEATON – Several individuals face charges involving drugs and drug paraphernalia, after incidents that occurred between May 24 and June 3, according to Wheaton Police Department reports.
