Lemont High School will host its annual eighth-grade open house from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Nov. 19.

The event provides an opportunity for current eighth-grade students and their parents to meet Lemont High School teachers, guidance counselors and administrators. Tours of the facility will be available as well.

Principal Thomas Trengove encourages residents to attend.

“Whether discussing academics, athletics or other extra-curricular activities, Lemont High School is enjoying a great deal of success,” he said. “Our open house gives our future students a glimpse at the opportunities that await them when they arrive on campus, and helps them to envision the success that is attainable once they're here.”

Any student who lives within the high school’s attendance boundaries, or who plans on living within those boundaries during the 2010-11 school year, is encouraged to take advantage of this “sneak peak” of the school, 800 Porter St.

Students and parents alike will have the chance to learn about the school’s academic and extra-curricular programs.

Anyone needing special handicapped accommodations should call the school’s main line at (630) 257-5838 in advance to make arrangements.

For more information, contact Director of School and Community Relations Tony Hamilton at tonyh@lemont.k12.il.us or (630) 243-3280.
