This November, the Brookfield Public Library will pay tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright by offering a month-long series of programs dedicated to America’s most famous architect.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, the series begins with the lecture Prairie Plus. Jan Kieckhefer of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust will discuss Wright and his influence on Prairie Style architecture.

The series continues with book discussions on two popular recent novels that discuss Wright and the women in his life.

At 2:30 p.m. Nov. 14, the Wye Valley Book Club will meet at the Wye Valley Apartments on the British Home campus, 8700 W. 31st St., Brookfield, to discuss T.C. Boyle’s “The Women.”

At 7 p.m. Nov. 15, the Tuesday Night Book Club will meet at the Brookfield Public Library, 3609 Grand Blvd., to discuss “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horan. The library invites all community members to attend one or both discussion groups.

At 2 p.m. Nov. 19, the series concludes with Ellie Carlson’s “Regretting Mr. Wright.” Carlson will give an interpretive presentation on Mamah Borthwick Chaney, the woman for whom Frank Lloyd Wright left his wife and built Taliesin in Wisconsin.

Carlson offers a look at what she calls “the real Mamah,” a modern woman whose actions made her an outcast in Victorian society.

This program will take place at the Wye Valley Apartments on the British Home campus.
Registration is required.

More information is available here, or by calling (708) 485-6917.
