1. How did the school board develop these goals?
The process is that we get together with the superintendent when we’re in the summer, and we set the goals for the district for the coming year and the goals for the district get incorporated to his working plan goals.
2. How do you measure successful completion of the goals?
He develops a working plan, a strategic plan that goes to the district goals. Maybe there are 20 sub-items. We look at those and do the evaluation every March and how many of those things were completed, or to what degree were they completed or to what level satisfaction were they completed.
3. What role does the public have in holding the superintendent accountable for the goals?
Well, through us. They have the role of holding us accountable to hold him accountable. There’s little if any direct input or involvement by the general members of the public in that process other than through elected officials.
4. How will public access to the goals influence how they are created in the future?
I don’t know that they will impact them at all. The goals are pretty straightforward as they are.
