Upcoming events at the Marengo-Union Library District include:
Partying!: Local history expert Alice Wagner will present a sampling of 120 years (1835-1955) of events such as moonlight boating parties, box socials, and pound parties.
The free event is offered Thursday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. and again at 6:30 p.m. The program will last for an hour; and elevator service is available.
Cemetery Walk: The Library is sponsoring a walking tour of the Marengo City Cemetery at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Join Alice Wagner as she points out facts about early settlers, area luminaries, memorial stone symbolism, and cemetery etiquette. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the afternoon weather. (The tour will be canceled if there is lightning or heavy rain). The walking tour will last an hour.

Scrapbooking: A local scrapbooking expert will lead the creation of photo albums from a kit at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. The two-hour workshop is for individuals age 13 and up.
Individuals must sign up in advance; and there is a $150 non-refundable materials reimbursement fee due upon registration. Plan to bring in at least 16 photographs, as well as scissors and double-sided (photo-safe) sticky tape.
