A young cast stars in a musical version of Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” at Steel Beam Children’s Theatre, 111 W. Main St., St. Charles.
Director Erik Wagner and Music Director Amy Steele, both of Chicago, auditioned the cast, which features Taylor Sherry of St. Charles in the title role. Taylor, who recently finished a role at American Girl Place Theatre in Chicago, portrays Anemone, the little mermaid who longs to become human and marry her prince, played by Dan Rosenthal of Fox River Grove. Evil Sea Witch is played by Victoria Michaelis of St. Charles, assisted by two snarky sharks, Dan Solon of St. Charles and Lindsey Gallaher of South Elgin.
Mermaid sisters are played by Beth Kahan, Sabina Jaffer and Claire Cerny, all of Geneva; and Nicki Luke, Nadia Handler and Libby Harvey, all of St. Charles. Emily Whaley of Schaumburg and Jordan Graber of Geneva play the humorous country bumpkins. King Neptune is Nico Danilovich of Winfield, and Anemone’s grandmother is played by Stacy Wandry of St. Charles. Also in the cast are Tori Sperber and Cameron Graber, both of Geneva; Ashley Turner of West Chicago; Sofie Peltier, Tommy Hintz, Jacob Simon, Chase Buntrock and Jimmy Farace, all of St. Charles; Danny Gonzalez of Winfield; and Alexis Santana of South Elgin.
