The Lyons Township boys golf team earned sixth place at the Class 3A state tournament at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in Bloomington on Saturday.
The Lions finished with a 638 team score.
Junior Kevin Workman, playing with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, finished tied for 17th overall with a two-day 156 final score. Workman shot a 79 on Friday and a 77 on Saturday.
Sophomore Kevin Carlson (159) finished in a tie for 35th for the Lions after shooting a 77 Saturday. The Lions also got counting scores from senior Tomas VenClovas (164 - tied for 58th) and junior Terrence Silvey (165 - tied for 63rd).
Senior Austin Lusson shot a 166 (tied for 70th) for LT, and senior Kyle Mulcahy finished with a 167 (tied for 72nd).
St. Viator took the team championship after finishing with a 611 team score.
