A Brookfield sex offender has been charged with aggravated sexual abuse for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old Lyons girl.
Richard A. Andes, 30, 4535 Blanchan Ave., was arrested Sept. 17, making this his second sexual abuse offense in eight years, police said.
Police said the case began to surface in April when the victim’s friend reported the incident. The teen girl was an acquaintance of Andes, according to reports. The complaint alleged in August 2007, Andes had sexual relations with the girl, who was 15 at the time, police said.
The arrest of Andes follows an analysis of evidence by the Illinois state police crime lab, according to reports.
Brookfield police Lt. Jeff Leh said the previous case was unrelated to this crime.
In 2000, Andes was sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for a Brookfield case involving a 15-year-old girl.
Andes is listed in the state police sex offender registry as a sexual predator.
Leh said bond was set at $750,000 and Andes’ next court date is set for Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Andes could face seven to 14 years in prison if convicted, police added.
