Countryside is hosting Harvest Fest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Countryside Park, located between 59th and 61st Streets, a half-block east of Brainard Avenue.
The festival is part as part of Countryside’s Road to Route 66 events.
Pumpkin painting will be featured from noon to 1 p.m., and visitors can guess the weight of a special pumpkin throughout the day until 4:45 p.m.
From 1 to 3 p.m., carnival games, bingo and craft projects will be featured.
Pony and hay rides will be available from 1 :30 to 4:30 p.m.
Those participating in the scarecrow making contest from 3 to 4:30 p.m. should bring clothing and accessories to decorate scarecrows. The city will provide hay, the base, burlap and markers.
A costume contest will be held a 4:20 p.m. followed by a Scarecrow Parade at 4:45 p.m.
Other activities include face painting, a Pumpkin Patch, Moon Jump, DJ, and a variety of games. Food ad beverages will be available.
