Lombard, IL -

The Lombard Fire Department responded to a report of fire at about 6:35 p.m. June 11 in a dressing room at the Von Maur store, 145 Yorktown Center.

Battalion Chief Chuck Ralis said the call was reported by a store employee. The small fire was extinguished by another fast-acting store employee with a fire extinguisher prior to the Fire Department’s arrival.

The fire appears to be a result of ignited clothing material and the damage is estimated at about $3,000, according to Ralis.

Battalion Chief Mike Torrence, head of the Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit, said the fire is under investigation. Investigators from both the Lombard Fire and Police departments will work with store security personnel reviewing security videos from cameras placed throughout store.

Requests for additional information can be directed to Battalion Chief Mike Torrence at (630) 620-5736.
