On my quest to find you, my readers, businesses in our community who have great customer service, I am always on the lookout for a business that is reasonably priced. So let me tell you about Kelly Nails at 1125H S. Main St., just around the corner from Enchanted Castle.
I was a walk-in the other day needing a pedicure and manicure. After being greeted by their employee Amanda, I was told to pick out a nail color and sit in one of their chairs.
Within minutes I was relaxed, experiencing a back massage from the chair. It was wonderful.
They advertise a pedicure and manicure on certain days for $30, which was what I was going for. But on this day I felt I deserved a little more, so I opted for the next step up, which was a deluxe pedicure for $40 and a manicure for $8.
Good idea! This was great pampering, which was exactly what I needed. After my toes were taken care of, Amanda proceeded to massage my calves and feet with a body scrub for what seemed like a long time. The next step was a massage with lotion, and she then put a mask on my legs and feet covering them with hot towels. All I can say is — it was great! What a wonderful way to wind down and relax.
I left about an hour and a half later feeling like a wet noodle and sleeping very well that night. And I should mention my toenails and fingernails look very well-groomed.
They have other services in nail care along with waxing, paraffin wax, massage and facials. To contact them for any information, call (630) 268-0361.
A toast to Tri-Town YMCA
Lombard is fortunate enough to have the wonderful programs of the Tri-Town YMCA at their disposal on an every day basis. Besides programs such as the Indian Princess program I have boasted about and my husband and daughter were involved in, they have after-school programs and events annually to keep our kids busy and off the streets. Many single parents have been helped out by the YMCA being there to care for their children when they could not be there.
Tri-Town YMCA encompasses the towns of Lombard, Villa Park and Oakbrook Terrace.
To keep up with this demand, you will notice the Tri-Town YMCA holds fundraisers throughout the year to keep up with the community projects they host. On Saturday, Sept. 6, “A Tri-Town Toast” will be held from noon to 7 p.m. by 20 West Wine & Spirits, 20 W. St. Charles Road.
Vendors will be set up in the rear parking lot of 20 West Wine & Spirits, and for a $10 donation you will have the opportunity to taste wine and beer and receive either a free wine glass or beer mug. I would say this is a unique and fun way to support our Tri-Town YMCA.
For more information about the event, call the Tri-Town YMCA at (630) 629-9622 or refer to the Web site at www.tritownymca.org.
