A cooking class, slated for Tuesday evening  in Lombard, has been rescheduled due to a tragedy in the family of the event organizer.

Bill Lavery, founder & host of ":Cooking with the Best Chefs," based out of Roselle, lost his nephew and godson when he was killed in a car accident a few days ago.


The class has been rescheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 28 at Odyssey Authentic Greek Taverna, 677 W. Roosevelt Road, Lombard,

"Grandmother’s Dishes from Alsace" with Pierre Daval, executive chef of the Renaissance Oak Brook Hotel will feature family dishes from northeast France, including Wild Mushroom Organic Chicken Fricassee with Pinot Noir Sauce; Homemade Spatzle, little dumplings; and Seafood Choucroute, a version of the traditional Black Forest Sauerkraut Dish with Atlantic halibut, sea scallops, mussels and Riesling butter. Registration is required by Tuesday, Oct. 21.
