Glenbard District 87 Superintendent Mike Meissen has assembled a Minority Student Achievement Task Force, which will consist of students, parents, community members, teachers and administrators.
Task Force members will analyze data, review research, visit high schools where practices are successfully reducing achievement gaps, identify successful Glenbard programs and make recommendations to boost minority student achievement.
Allan Alson, associate director with the Consortium for Educational Change, will facilitate the Task Force. Alson is one of the founders of the nationally recognized Minority Student Achievement Network.
The Task Force will meet throughout the spring and has additional meetings scheduled in the fall.
