Several Glenbard Township High School District 87 educators will share their knowledge with colleagues when they make presentations at national conferences of professional associations.

A Burr Ridge businessman will take over immediately to fill a vacancy left on the College of DuPage Board of Trustees after former Trustee Jane M. Herron resigned abruptly during a Jan. 18 meeting. Trustees unanimously approved Joseph T. Snyder, owner of Snyder Insurance Services and Snyder Financial Services of Darien, to fill out the rest of Herron’s term, which runs to April 2009, said Brian Kleemann, a COD spokesman, during a special board meeting Feb. 27.

In the days leading up to the Mr. Glenbard East High School competition, Nate Greene’s buddies urged him on by chanting, “We want the Wii!” The peer pressure must have paid off. On Feb. 22, the senior danced his way into being crowned the first-ever Mr. GEHS.

 The Lombard area American Association of University Women is offering two “Returning to Learning” scholarships.
