Greater LaGrange YMCA hosts fundraiser
It was a gorgeous night for a ball game when the Greater LaGrange YMCA hosted its fourth annual Chicago White Sox fundraiser benefitting the Y's Special Olympics. Despite the Sox loss, everyone had a good night especially knowing it was all for a good cause. The event raised $4,300 for the Special Olympics swim and bowling teams at the Greater LaGrange YMCA. The two teams provide 52 athletes with a place to thrive and grow while their parents can enjoy peace of mind.

As the first customer at the Warrenville Dunkin' Donuts after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013, Jeff Stewart, of Naperville, gets a little something extra with his order. In a company Iced Coffee Cash & Ddash promotion, Stewart receives a $1,000 check, a gift card for a month's supply of iced coffee, a Keurig K-Cup brewing system and a box of the new Dunkin' iced coffee K-Cup packs.

Blackhawk fans turn out before sunrise for a chance to get close to the Stanley Cup and have their photo taken with it at the Bolingbrook Golf Club on Thursday, July 25, 2013. Thursday was Chicago Blackhawks Director of Team Services Tony Ommen's day to take the cup on tour.
DuPage County Fair Photography Contest: 22 photos
The DuPage County Fair along with PJ's Camera and Suburban Life Media sponsored the annual Shoot-Out Photography Contest on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Each participant was given a half hour to photograph the category they chose from a random drawing. After they photographed their Shoot-Out topic, they chose their best image, worked with volunteer Jan Baumgartner on cropping their image to an 8x10-inch size. PJ's Camera then printed and mounted the image to be judged by Suburban Life Media photographers Bill Ackerman and Erica Benson. The Shoot-Out topics included Unforgetable Faces, Let's Eat, Sounds and Color. The images are available to see while attending the fair inside the Home Economic Buliding.
