Downers North's Fred Palma provided a first offensive play of the season that would be hard to top Friday against Lockport.

But Palma's electric 70-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage in the 2010 football season was emphatically answered by Lockport's array of big-yardage strikes.

Lockport star Dan Holman scored on runs of 80 and 15 yards to put the Porters up for good at 14-6 early in the second quarter.

Then after the Trojans battled back to within 14-13 on another Palma touchdown run (his second of three on the night), Lockport struck quickly again on a 75-yard touchdown on first down after the ensuing kickoff to rebuild a 21-13 lead. The Porters led 28-13 at halftime.
