Downers Grove, IL -

Authorities have released the identity of a 43-year-old Bolingbrook man who was killed Wednesday morning when he scaled a guard rail at the Interstate 355 overpass at Maple Avenue in Downers Grove and plunged to his death on the roadway below.

According to the DuPage County Coroner’s Office, Keith Clark, 43, of Bolingbrook, died as a result of injuries suffered in the incident.

No other information was provided.

Downers Grove police said Clark was walking westbound on the south side of the overpass at Maple Avenue at about 8:45 a.m. when, according to witnesses, Clark climbed over a guard rail and intentionally jumped to the road below.

“He was struck by a truck in the right-hand lane and was pronounced dead at the scene,” said Sgt. David Bormann, spokesman for the Downers Grove Police Department.

All lanes of northbound traffic on I-355 were temporarily closed and traffic was diverted to the Maple Avenue ramp, Bormann said.
