Three Hinsdale teenagers have been charged with theft and criminal defacement of property for a series of 21 incidents.

Hinsdale Police Chief Bradley Bloom said the teens have been charged in DuPage County Circuit Court. The theft and defacements took place between July 12 and July 13 in Hinsdale.

“I am glad to report we have identified suspects in these 21 incidents, and are happy to be bringing this to a conclusion,” Bloom said.

The three charged with one count of theft and 20 counts of criminal defacement of property are: Paul Lamoureux, 17, 641 S. Bodin St.; Patrick Wallach, 17, 140 S. Clay St.; and Rowan McBride, 17, 429 S. Monroe St., police said.

All three posted bond and have court appearance scheduled for December.

Wallach has been charged with theft as an adult three times prior to this case, according to police.

According to Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka, Lamoureux turned himself into police at 6 p.m. Nov. 19 after a warrant was issued for his arrest three days earlier.

McBride turned himself in at 3:45 p.m. Monday, and Wallach turned himself in at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wodka said.

Wodka said a break in the case came when physical evidence obtained during the course of the investigation was sent to a crime lab.

“Information from the processing of the evidence led us to a suspect,” Wodka said.

No more information was provided pending the ongoing investigation.

The three are charged with stealing cans of paint and spray-painting cars, garages and residences along Monroe Street, Adams Street, Thurlow Street and others, according to police.

“In addition to the graffiti, some of the language used offended people,” Bloom said.

No estimate was given as to the cost of damage to property.

In addition to residences, garages and vehicles vandalized, playground equipment at Dietz Park, the exterior of Zion Lutheran Church and the Hinsdale Swimming Pool were targeted, police said.
