Lisle man drowned while swimming at nudist colony

Lisle, IL -
James Spurgeon, 48, of Lisle, drowned Sunday while swimming to a raft at Lake O’ The Woods nudist colony in Northwest Indiana.
Spurgeon was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m., according to Porter County Coroner Victoria Deppe.
According to Indian Conservation Officer Gene Deppe, Spurgeon was swimming toward a raft in Sager Lake on Sunday when it appeared he began to struggle and disappeared under the water, witnesses told investigators.
According to Davis, Spurgeon was pulled from the water about 10 minutes after disappearing.
Deppe said an autopsy indicated no alcohol or drugs were found in Spurgeon’s system.
