Romeoville, IL -

The Village of Romeoville is forming a Green Committee comprised of residents, business members and educators to increase community awareness of energy conservation and sustainability practices.

The group’s first organizational meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Village Hall, 13 Montrose Drive.

“It is my vision that the team will work on ideas for creating educational campaigns for short-term goals such as increasing residents’ participation in recycling,” said Dawn Caldwell, assistant village manager of Romeoville.

There is no limit to the number of people sought for participation in the Green Committee, and the first meeting is open to any resident, business owner, school official and village employee.

For more information, contact Caldwell at (815) 886-7200, Ext. 418
