Bolingbrook, IL -

Bolingbrook police arrested a 15-year-old Bolingbrook High School student this morning who claimed he had a gun in his possession, officials said.

The school was lock down the school for an hour while police searched the building. According to Lt. Ken Teppel, spokesman for the Bolingbrook Police Department, at about 10:30 a.m. a 15-year-old male student told a class mate he had a gun. The class mate then told a teacher, who informed school officials.

The school was locked down for an hour while police conducted a school-wide search, Teppel said.

“By 11:30 the school was back to its normal routine,” Teppel said.

Teppel said police liaison officers inside the school responded immediately to the classroom, where the student in question was searched, as were all students in the classroom, school grounds and lockers.

Police arrested the student, who is being charged with disorderly conduct, Teppel said.

Teppel said the suspect told officers although he made the claim he had a gun, never had a gun in his possession.
