Bolingbrook, IL -

Bolingbrook police are asking the public’s help in identifying the diver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 41-year-old Bolingbrook resident early this morning near Briarcliff Road and Annerino Drive.

Police said Ronnie Lyles, 41, of the 400 block of Rockhurst Road, was found lying in the street at about 2:45 a.m. by a passerby and pronounced dead o the scene by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

According to Lt. Ken Teppel, spokesman for the Bolingbrook Police Department, police were called by an unidentified witness who saw the accident “from a distance.”

Witnesses interviewed by police at the scene said they saw a car heading east bound on Briarcliff Road strike Lyles before driving off.

The car is believed to be a smaller, dark-colored older model vehicle, but no other details were provided.

“The witnesses were a distance away and it was dark outside. There was no description of the driver. We are currently checking with local restaurants and other businesses that have video cameras in operation at that time of night to see if we can get additional information,” Teppel said.

Anyone with information is asked to call (630) 226-8600.
