Accomplishments

• The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) has invited 231 Illinois students to enroll this fall as members of their sophomore class, the class of 2010. The average SAT mathematics and verbal scores for the invited students are 652 and 587 respectively. The following local students were among those offered admission:

• The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has named the winners of Merit Scholarship awards financed by colleges and universities. College sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. • Robert Krzyzanowski, of Naperville, received recognition at the North Central College honors convocation in May for three awards - Outstanding Major in Computer Science, Outstanding Major in Mathematics and the Outstanding Student in the Division of Science. Robert graduated from North Central college with majors in computer science, mathematics and physics. He started attending classes at North Central College at age 11 as part of a program for gifted young scholars.
