An offensive force for Lemont’s volleyball team as a senior last fall, Jenna Litoborski has made just as big an impact as a freshman outside hitter at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

In the opening month of her college career, Litoborski was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Volleyball “Rookie of the Week” for the week of Sept. 8.

Through matches of Sept. 22, Litoborski has led the 49ers (9-6 record) with 141 kills (2.66 per game and a .262 hitting percentage) and also has 109 digs (third on the team).

Her “Rookie of the Week” award was sparked by Litoborski earning all-tourney honors at the High Point Classic, when she smashed a team-high 30 kills over three matches. That included her first career double-double with a season-best 16 kills and 13 digs in a four-game loss to host High Point, and a staggering hitting percentage of .600 (with 10 kills) in a three-set sweep over Winston-Salem State.

 For the week, the rookie standout averaged 2.4 kills and 2.7 digs per game.

Litoborski posted double-digit kill totals in three of Charlotte’s
first seven matches, including 11 in a season-opening five-game win over
Atlantic Coast Conference foe Wake Forest.

Litoborski was a standout performer for head coach Chris Zogata’s Lemont squad. A three-time All-South Suburban Conference (SSC) selection, she helped the Indians to three regional titles
and two conference crowns from 2006 to 2008.
