LEMONT – Showing a flair for the dramatic, Lemont baseball closed out the regular season in thrilling fashion Monday. Capping off a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, Matt Kaminski drove in the winning run as the Indians beat Joliet West 11-10. A two-run homer by Jake Latz had knotted up the score.

BURBANK – If Tuesday is any indication, Rylie Jay might want to make Queen of Peace her new home field. Lemont’s sophomore shortstop had a career day at the plate during the Indians’ playoff opener, going 3-for-3 with three home runs and nine RBIs in the team’s 22-0 win over Noble Street Charter in a Class 3A regional semifinal in Burbank.
NEW LENOX – In practice Tuesday, Kim Jerantowski was finding her range on set pieces. So when an opportunity arose for a free kick early in Wednesday's sectional semifinal against Joliet Catholic, the Lemont junior stepped forward without hesitation.

LEMONT – From his seat at U.S. Cellular Field on Sunday, Cody Caballero hoped to pick up a tip or two as he watched left-handed pitchers Chris Sale and CJ Wilson go up against each other. But the way the Lemont senior has been throwing this spring, he doesn’t appear to need much help. Primarily a reliever a year ago, the lefty has excelled in his move to the starting rotation, compiling an 8-1 record after recording the win in Tuesday’s 10-0 rout over Hillcrest.
LEMONT - Backed by a 4-for-4 performance at the plate from Lauren May, Lemont's softball team picked up an 11-2 victory over Bremen Tuesday. May knocked out a triple and two doubles and drove in five runs.

LEMONT – From the moment she stepped onto a soccer field at the age of 4, Kim Jerantowski took a liking to distributing the ball to teammates. Years later, as a junior at Lemont, nothing much changed for the Indians’ midfielder, who is equally adept at finding the back of the net.

LEMONT - Like any potential prospect, Graham Pocic's hope was to hear his name called during last weekend's NFL draft. But the Lemont High School graduate was also realistic, realizing that offseason surgery to his shoulder which limited his exposure to teams at the next level could be a deterrent.

LEMONT — Talking to Rylie Jay, one could get the impression that the Lemont shortstop is off to a slow start this spring. Admittedly tough on herself, the sophomore believes there is room for improvement. And that can only be a scary thought for opposing pitchers considering Jay was hitting .610 (25-for-41) with five home runs heading into this week.
