Car fire near Lemont contained

Lemont, IL -

Lemont fire officials have extinguished a car fire that began at about 2 p.m. today on southbound Veterans’ Memorial Tollway  near the village.

When fire officials came on the scene near International Parkway, the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire officials were able to contain the fire by about 2:30 p.m.

“They extinguished it pretty quickly,” said Timothy Oslakovich, acting deputy chief for the Lemont Fire Protection District.

No injuries were reported.
