Lemont, IL -

In an effort to reduce utility costs during the warmest month of the year, Lemont High School will be piloting a four-day work week in July 2009, with the school’s offices closed to the public each Friday.

During the month of July, the building will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The high school will be closed July 3, July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31. The school will also be closed on Monday, July 6, to observe the July 4th holiday. Sports camps that are scheduled on Fridays will go on as scheduled.

The school hopes to reduce utility costs by having the building unlighted and without air conditioning one additional day each week. In August, the school will revert to its regular schedule, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
