Independence Day celebration planned at Lemont Park District

The Lemont Park District will hold its annual Independence Day Extravaganza Friday, July 3 at Centennial Park, 16028 127th St.
The day will kick off at 5 p.m. with a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and a skateboard competition. Both events are free.
A variety of kid’s games and inflatables will be available beginning at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m., the band Final Say will take the stage. The annual Battle of Boards, featuring board members from the eight local Lemont governing agencies, will also be held.
New this year is a beer garden and food court which will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. Proceeds from both will benefit the Lemont Park Foundation in their efforts to support community programs and initiatives and District 113A’s PTA. Fireworks at dusk will end the evening.
