Those who supported Music
Days event deserve thanks
The Lemont High School Band Parents Association would like to say a big thank you to the community of Lemont for the very generous contributions made during our annual Music Days fundraiser held Aug. 28 and 29. We would like the Lemont community to know how much we appreciate all of the support you gave to our Lemont High School Band.

Board cannot continue to
do things the same way
Personally, I would not want new board members (Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A) to receive training from the incumbent board members and not from the administration. They seem to believe “because they have always done it that way,” they “will continue to do it that way.” I believe their leadership has put the district in its current crisis.
“The deficit is not anybody’s fault.” Not taking responsibility is a substantial part of our country’s prevailing problems. Citizens not holding elected officials accountable is another aspect. It is somebody’s fault.
Why is it that School Board member Janet Hughes was forced to file a Freedom of Information Act request in order to receive information that should be readily available?
At meetings, I have witnessed Roberts Rules of Order being ignored or not understood by the incumbents.
Is the $2.8 million the entire deficit, or is that just for 2009-10? What is the entire deficit that has been accruing for “nearly a decade”?
I remember during the election it was said the district did not have a deficit. Did not the incumbents want an investigation about false rumors during the election? What was the outcome?
