Work will begin on the second phase of the Bluff Avenue Reconstruction Project Monday, Nov. 9.

The project involves the installation of 60 inch and 120 inch sewers on Cossitt Avenue from East Avenue to Washington Avenue, on Washington Avenue from Cossitt Avenue to Maple Avenue and on Maple Avenue from Washington Avenue to Bluff Avenue.

A public information meeting regarding this project is planned for Thursday, Nov. 5, at 10 am at the Public Works Facility, 320 East Avenue.

Village officials will be there to discuss details pertaining to scope of work, project schedule and answer any questions.

The purpose of this project is to expand the capacity of the village's sewer system and to provide a connection to new sewers that are planned to be constructed on Bluff Avenue between 47th Street and Cossitt Avenue.

Residents should be aware detours will be required in the project area and on-street parking will be impacted adjacent to the project site. Specifically, Cossitt Avenue will be closed on or about Nov. 11 from East Avenue to Sawyer Avenue for approximately two weeks to facilitate the installation of the new sewer.

Signs will be posted alerting motorists that Tilden Avenue and Lincoln Avenue will be utilized as the detour route.

The project is estimated to be completed by April. For more information call  (708) 579-2325.
