Employees at Ledo’s Pizza in Countryside thwarted an armed robber early Sunday, holding the 53-year-old man down on the ground until police arrived.

A La Grange man stopped by police at 11:45 a.m. Monday at Route 83 and Roosevelt Road allegedly had a loaded 9mm handgun next to a loaded 30-round magazine in the vehicle, police said.
