• St. Paul Lutheran Church, 515 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, will resume the regular schedule of services on Sept. 7. The chapel will hold services at 7:30, 8:30 and 11 a.m. Rally Day, which is Sunday, Sept. 7, will have a Special Family Worship at the 11 a.m. service. St. Paul is an open and affirming church. • Bethel United Church of Christ, 315 E. St. Charles, Elmhurst, will host its annual Rally Day Sunday, Sept. 7, to kick off the new year of Christian education programs. After the worship service at 10 a.m., all are invited to stay for hot dogs, games and live entertainment on the church grounds. • The First United Methodist Church of Elmhurst will host its Rally Day Sunday, Sept. 7, to kick off its fall church school classes for children and adults. Everyone is invited to celebrate the joys of welcoming the fall season after the relaxation of summer. All are invited to the Rally Day Breakfast, which will be held in Wesley Hall from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Children and youth will locate their church school classroom and meet their new teachers in preparation for the beginning of classes Sept. 14. • Grace Lutheran of Villa Park and Grace United Methodist of Lake Bluff invites you to join them for a collaborative event with the adult choirs. Admission is free. It will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Grace Lutheran Church, 5 N. Princeton. For more information, call (630) 832-0870.

• Programs begin at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 22W415 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn, on Sunday, Sept. 7, with a ministry fair and children’s program registration. St. Barnabas will be hosting the ministry fair from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Participating ministries include PADS, St. Leonard’s House, Youth Mission Trips, Aurora Soup Kitchen, Taize services, education for ministry and many others. Registration for and information about the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a unique approach to the spiritual formation of children ages 3 to 12 will be available. • All are invited to a Taize Worship Service at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in the sanctuary of St. Barnabas in Glen Ellyn. The service lasts about an hour, followed by a light reception in the narthex, to which all are welcome. The church is at 22W415 Butterfield Road. • St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 22W415 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn, is holding a Julian Meeting at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, in the sanctuary. Julian Meetings convene on the second Sunday of every month. Participants sit together in the precense of the Lord in silence for 20 minutes. After the silence, they spend a little time in reflection, then say the Lord’s prayer together, and exchange the Peace. • Bethel United Church of Christ’s Concert Series will celebrate 10 seasons of performances with the new series title, Music at Bethel, weekend concerts, and an opening night performance inspired by one of their most popular concerts from past seasons. Season ticket prices are $70 per adult, $65 per senior and $20 per student. Tickets for individual performances may be purchased for $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $5 for students. • Internationally known musician, author and humanitarian John Michael Talbot will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at St. Isadore Catholic Church in Bloomingdale. Talbot will share the songs which have made him one of the most prominent and beloved performers of Christian music. The concert is free to the public. However, a free-will donation will be taken.
