Arts in Bartlett events Feb. 2 is the deadline to enter to events sponsored by Arts in Bartlett and the Bartlett Public Library that are part of “The Big Read.” Bartlett’s selection is the Jack London novel, “The Call of the Wild.” Children can enter the “Draw Buck” contest with prizes for the drawings that best depict the appearance and spirit of Buck, the sled dog featured in the novel. Entry blanks are available in “doggie bags” at the library, Bartlett Community Center and the Village Hall, second floor art gallery. Adults are invited to exhibit their works in the “Call of the Wild” art and photography exhibit in the Village Hall art gallery that will run from Feb. 9 to March 20. Works should depict wildlife, dogs and scenery similar to the Alaskan Yukon in which the book is set. Applications are available in the Village Hall art gallery or from Arts in Bartlett.
