A 32-year-old Chicago man is being charged in the death of a Brookfield man early Saturday who was killed on the Eisenhower Expressway.

Daniel C. Clark is being held in DuPage County Jail on $1 million bond on charges of one count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol involving death and one count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, according to media reports. Authorities say he drove his car about 1:22 a.m. Saturday into a parked Illinois State Police squad car, killing 42-year-old Frank S. Caruso and hurting the trooper, both of whom were sitting inside the car at the time.

Caruso was warming up in the back of the squad car after his SUV was involved in a minor accident the trooper responded to on eastbound Interstated 290 near Mill Road in Addison, media reports stated.

Three people involved in the crash were taken to area hospitals. The trooper was taken to Loyola Medical Center with a possible concussion, but is expected to recover from his injuries.
