Huntley police received a report Oct. 16 that a swastika was spray painted on a no parking sign at the Huntley Towers on Route 47.
Disorderly conduct charged
Rudolph J. Obsnuk, 54, 9816 Compton, was arrested Oct. 16 for disorderly conduct, according to police. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail.
Copper stolen
Huntley police received a report Oct. 18 that copper was stolen near 14200 Holbrook Court. The copper was cut from several residences under construction, police said. According to police, the estimated total loss is $8,800, including labor.
BB gun shot
Huntley police received a report Oct. 18 that an unknown person shot a BB gun out of a window of a residence near 10600 Golden Gate.
Building damaged
Huntley police received a report Oct. 18 that a garbage can was found burning in a laundry room near 10400 North Church Street. Police said the fire was extinguished. According to police, damage was also found on a window screen.
Man arrested for possession
Michael Silenzi, 18, 1704 Arbor Court, Palatine, was arrested Oct. 19 on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to police. He was transported to McHenry County Jail and released after posting bond.
Vehicle thefts reported
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 16 that a burglary to a motor vehicle occurred while a car was parked at the Prime Outlet Mall, 11800 Factory Shops Blvd. Police said a bag containing a portable video game system, two cell phones and two memory cards was stolen.
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 19 of a burglary to motor vehicle that occurred near 11700 Woodcreek Drive. Police said a purse and two cans of Monster Energy Drink were stolen from the unlocked car.
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 19 that a burglary to motor vehicle occurred near 11700 Woodcreek Drive. Police said a Sony stereo faceplate was removed from an unlocked vehicle.
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 19 that burglary to motor vehicle occurred near 11700 Daniel . Police said a resident reported that between 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 19 an unknown person entered the vehicle and removed the face plate to the stereo. The stereo unit is valued at $400, according to police.
Residential burglaries reported
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 19 that a residential burglary occurred near 11700 Daniel . Police said a resident reported that between 10 p.m. Oct. 18, and 6 a.m. on Oct. 19, an unknown person entered the residence and took a purse off of the kitchen table. According to police, the purse contained about $25 cash, credit cards, check book and a cellular phone.
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 19 that two bicycles were stolen from a garage near 10600 Church St.
• Huntley police received a report Oct. 19 that a residential burglary occurred near 11700 Woodcreek . Police said a resident reported that between 2:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. a Dell laptop computer was taken off a couch. Police said the suspects entered through an unlocked patio door.
