Criminal defacement
Graffiti was painted at a business under construction at 320 Cardinal Drive between Sept. 25 and Oct. 25. The graffiti caused about $200 of damage, according to police.

Driving under the influence
Oswaldo Ramirez-Cruz, 31, 309 S. 13th St., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more, driving on a suspended or revoked license, improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at 11:45 p.m. Oct. 22, police said. Ramirez-Cruz had a blood-alcohol content of 0.151, according to reports. He has a court date scheduled for Dec. 9.

BMX bicycle stolen
A 20-inch Chrome Haro Z BMX-style bicycle was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Cumberland Green Drive between 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and the same time Oct. 17. The bicycle was estimated to be worth $200.

Property damage reported

  • The rear window of a car reportedly was damaged at 8 a.m. Oct. 21 at National Data Services, 620 Stetson Ave. The glass was completely shattered, causing $300 in damages.
  • Jesus A. Adame was charged with criminal damage to property at 12:42 a.m. Oct. 30 for breaking a window at House Pub, 16 S. First Ave., police said. The broken window is estimated to cost $25 to repair.


Possession, theft charged
Patrick Eugene Liberg, 20, 28W531 Bolles Ave., West Chicago, allegedly attempted to steal $474.06 worth of items from Wal-Mart, 150 Smith Road, at 8:50 p.m. Oct. 22. He was charged with retail theft, police said. Liberg was charged with possession of a controlled substance after officers found 3.23 grams of heroin on him, according to reports.

Phone reported stolen
At 9:10 a.m. Oct. 20 a Blackberry cellular phone worth about $509 reportedly was stolen from a student at St. Charles East High School, 1020 Dunham Road.

Camera, Rolex taken from car
Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 24, more $6,000 worth of items were reported stolen from a car parked at Jared Jewelers, 3800 E. Main St. Items stolen included an $800 camera and a $4,550 Rolex watch.

Burglary reported
Between 7 p.m. Oct. 21 and 7 a.m. Oct. 23 at Suburban Tire, 1900 Lincoln Highway, a diagnostic car analyzer was reported missing. After employees were told by the owner he believed one of them had taken it, the machine was found behind a garbage can, according to reports. The item was worth $8,031.

Purse, money stolen
At 7:17 p.m. Oct. 27 at Wal-Mart, 150 Smith Road, a purse and money were reported stolen at a value of $127 total.

Possession charged
Kelly R. Kunde, 18, 1037 S. Fourth St., was charged with letting an unauthorized driver use her vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Michael Anthony Vorkapic, 17, 218 Anderson Blvd., Geneva, was charged with no valid driver’s license. Vorkapic was found driving Kunde’s car, police said. The car contained a small pipe, which was believed to be used for smoking marijuana, according to reports.
