In a ruling Tuesday by the Illinois High School Association Board of Directors, Bartlett's girls basketball team has been forced to forfeit all wins from the 2008-09 season for using a player the IHSA deemed ineligible.
Neither the IHSA nor representatives at Bartlett High School would comment on who the player in question is.
Bartlett principal Dr. Kevin Skinkis said in an e-mailed press release that Bartlett High School appealed the initial ruling which was upheld Tuesday.
"We are disappointed by the ruling, but we will abide by it," Skinkis said in the press release.
IHSA Executive Director Marty Hickman initially ruled the player ineligible for competition during the 2009-10 school year, but will review the case when documentaion regarding residency are submitted by the player and/or Bartlett High School.
