Hinsdale Central's boys soccer team began the season in fine fashion on Tuesday, defeating Metea Valley 2-0 in Hinsdale.

Leondro Perez scored both goals for the Red Devils while Mitch Reavis had an assist.

"The game provided many teachable moments," said coach Mike Wiggins, "that will only help us as we look to October. Every game for us in our approach gives us feedback on how well we prepare each week. It wasn't a well played game for us from an attacking perspective. Too many turnovers but that comes with the excitement and effort from a first game."
