The Issue: Local municipalities are scrambling to compensate for the loss of tax funds usually distributed by the state.

Our View: Enough is enough. We must elect people to serve in Springfield who can assert leadership to make tough but necessary decisions.

The Issue: Hinsdale’s park commission has opted not to make any changes for using the dog-friendly venue.

Our view: Those who use KLM Park must obey and also help uphold the rules to avoid future undesirable changes.

That headline might draw anger from some longtime Hinsdale residents. From 1993 to 2006, about 90 homes have been knocked down annually in Hinsdale. That is about one-third of the housing stock.
