Hinsdale, IL -

Metra has a new policy which will affect The Village of Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Department’s Polar Express trip on Sunday Dec. 7.

With the new policy and restrictions regarding group tickets, a total of 135 passengers are allowed on a train for any group. This affects all towns that have the Polar Express event, so there will only be one trip at 9 a.m.

Due to the limited number of seats, all registrations will be done by lottery. Registration is limited only to immediate family members living in the same household, no grandparents or other relatives. Parks and Rec is asking families to limit their registration to as few family members as possible. The age limit for children is 11-years-old. Due to the small amount of participants who will be allowed to attend, non-residents will not be able to participate.

The deadline to be entered in the lottery is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 and the lottery will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Confirmations will be sent out after the lottery is held and tickets will be mailed in mid-November.
