Hinsdale, IL -

Jeff Eagan will take his seat as business manager for Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Monday.

The School Board unanimously approved Eagan’s appointment last week for the 2008-09 school year. He will replace George Attaway, who was appointed interim business manager in January.

“We believe that the experiences and personal attributes of Mr. Eagan will make him a fine business manager for District 86,” School Board President Dennis Brennan said in a release June 24.

Eagan most recently served as assistant business manager for Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C, a position he held for three years. He also has  served as a member of the financial team at PMA Financial Network for five years and has owned a private business where he was the chief financial officer and manager for two years.

District 86 Superintendent Nicholas Wahl said Eagan’s experience in the private sector as well as in public school finance should help prepare him for his new role with the district.

Wahl added Attaway will continue working for the district for up to 50 days.

“Mr. Attaway will continue in a mentoring capacity as well as functional capacity for the district,” Wahl said. “This allows us to transition the business office effectively as well as constructively to be good stewards of the taxpayer dollars.”
