The popular End of Summer Bash — initially dropped this year due to budget cuts by the village of Hinsdale — is back on for Aug. 28 at Burlington Park.
During the June 16 Hinsdale Village board meeting, officials announced local businesswoman Tricia Montgomery will produce the event for free.
Montgomery owns and operates Hinsdale-based PMonty Public Relations and Productions.
“I am excited to help out any way I can,” said Montgomery.
Earlier this year, village officials announced the elimination of several programs to balance its budget, including eliminating the bash.
The village had budgeted $30,000 in previous years to stage the bash.
Although the event will be reduced in scope, it still will provide food, beverages and entertainment, officials said.
“We think it is going to be even more of a community event this year,” said Village Manager David Cook said.
