DUI charges filed
Margaret M. Omeara, 40, of La Grange was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving off the roadway, illegal transportation of open alcohol and driving without proof of insurance.

Omeara was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Oak Street Bridge north of East Chicago Avenue, police said.

Police said Omeara was driving southbound on Oak Street when her car struck a bridge support on the north side of Oak Street Bridge.

There was no damage to the bridge, and Omeara was not injured, police said.

Apartments vandalized
Graffiti was spray-painted on exterior walls of buildings between 5 p.m. Oct. 1 and 1 p.m. Oct. 2 in the Hidden Lake Apartments complex, 215 W. 59th St., according to police. No cost estimate of damage was given.

Theft reported
A firearm, cash, linens and other personal items — all valued at $6,000 — were reported stolen between April 15 and Sept. 29 in the 800 block of Elm Street, according to police. Police continue to investigate the matter.

Fraud prescription written
Hinsdale police continue to investigate the theft of a doctor’s prescription pad that was used in an attempt to obtain drugs at an Elmwood Park pharmacy Sept. 29, police said.

Adventist Hinsdale Hospital personnel contacted police at about 2:30 a.m. Sept. 29 after a Walgreens Pharmacy employee called the hospital to report a man had tried to obtain a prescription under suspicious circumstances, according to police.

The pharmacy did not issue the prescription, and police continue to investigate, said Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka.

Police said the pad was last seen at the hospital at about 7:45 p.m. Sept. 28.

Three charged with DUI
Three people face charges of driving while under the influence of alcohol in three separate incidents that occurred between Oct. 1 and 4, according to police.

•Krysztof Bednarczuk, 26, 7508 Brookbank Road, Willowbrook was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and squealing of tires, police said. He was arrested  at 12:45 a.m. Oct. 1 in the 6700 block of Route 83, police said.

• Rasa Pikeliene, 46, of Crest Hill was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper use of a turn signal and driving without insurance after being pulled over at 1 a.m. Oct. 3 in the 8300 block of Lemont Road, according to police.

• Marius Skarzauskas, 27, 8238 Woodland Drive, Darien was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and driving without insurance after being pulled over at about  12:30 a.m. Oct. 4 in the 1400 block of 75th Street, police said.

GPS stolen from vehicle
A global positioning system, valued at $700, was removed from a parked car between 9 p.m. Oct. 2 and 9:30 a.m. Oct. 3 a.m. from a parking lot in the 1000 block of Hinswood Drive, according to police. Access to the car was gained by breaking the driver’s side window, police said.
