The La Grange Panthers 9-year-old baseball team is holding open tryouts for its 2009 season. Tryouts will be held on Saturday Sept. 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with registration and warm-up beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tryouts will be held at The MAX, located on 47th St. one mile east of 1st Ave., in McCook.
Tryouts are for children interested in playing travel baseball in the West Suburban Baseball League, which consists of 25-30 games in the surrounding Western suburbs. The age requirement is that the player must be 9 years old or younger as of April 30, 2009.
Registration forms will be available at the time of tryouts. If your child is selected, a registration fee of $600 will be required by Nov. 1, 2008. More information is available by calling Roy Verdin at verdinmed@comcast.net or at (708)205-3611.
