La Grange Park, IL -

Nazareth’s boys golf team has played some solid golf lately, but lost a pair of heartbreakers in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. It started with a 158-160 loss to Marist. Leading the way was Peter Schink, who shot a two-under-par 34, with Ryan Mullaney and Brendan Salvino each shooting 42, with Tim Heuer adding a 43. The Roadrunners rebounded with a 160-168 win over St. Patrick, with Pat Mullaney leading the way with a 39. Dave Gustafson and Chris Gray added 40s, with Salvino adding a 41.
“The kids are doing good,” Nazareth coach Jim Danko said. “I’m happy with the scores we’re putting up.”
Finally, Nazareth fell 161-165 to Carmel on the road Tuesday. Pat Mullaney shot a 39, with Schink adding a 41, Ryan Mullaney a 42 and Gustafson a 43. Nazareth is now 4-4 in the ESCC.
