Lemont, IL -

The Lemont Police Department will establish Occupant Protection Enforcement Zones to conduct seat belt checks Nov. 13, to Nov. 29. The enforcement zones will coincide with the national and state “Click It or Ticket” mobilization.

Officers will be looking for drivers and passengers who do not buckle up, including drivers who fail to properly restrain child passengers.
If stopped and found in violation, Lemont police will issue tickets without warning.

Tickets for occupant protection violation range from $50 to $750, according to police.
